What is the Community Events Fund?
The Community Events Fund helps organisations who want to use Spark Arena and The Tuning Fork to stage community focused events.
Who administers the fund?
The fund is administered by a committee which has representatives from the Arena Management, Ngāti Whatua, Tataki Auckland Unlimited and independent members.
What are the objectives of the fund?
To enable organisations to access the venue and stage events and activities that.
Support and celebrate the diversity of Auckland’s and New Zealand’s communities, cultures, and wellbeing.
Support Auckland based sporting organisations.
Support organisations bringing new events and activities to Auckland.
Support organisations that wish to access the venue but wouldn’t ordinarily be able to do so due to the costs involved.
What can be funded?
The Community Events Fund generally limits their support to contributing towards costs related to the hire and operation of the venue.
What is the level of funding available?
This will vary depending on the nature and scale of the event and the location in the venue (Main Arena or Tuning Fork).
Who can be funded?
Preference will be given to not-for-profit organisations whose primary role is to support and provide services and benefits to the community that promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural wellbeing of communities.
How often can the fund be accessed?
The fund will support the same event / activities for a maximum of four occurrences although the events committee does have discretion support events / activities for longer.
